You bring so many great points. "It’s not interested in dick-wagging or inflating its own ego." is true. The Ego is part of the design world for so many unfortunately. I think many understand design but not what is truly important. "what it design really?" is a question few can answer... We praise the flashy button way more than the design that actually solves a real problem. That "button" design guy will get thousands of followers, sell hundreds of thousands of dollars in courses and so on. Does the user really care? I don't think so. Let's create designers that solve problems. Let's create designers that help businesses grow and create usable solutions FOR users... not for our designers friends.
